Cory Sandhagen Has Many Options!!

This past weekend Cory Sandhagen bounced back from a back-to-back losing streak with a TKO Doctor Stoppage win over one of the hardest-hitting bantamweights Song Yadong.

After a win over Yadong, it opened many doors and opportunities for Sandhagen. His best three options are Marlon Vera who is ranked #5 in the bantamweight division, Merab Dvalishvili who is ranked #3 in the bantamweight division, and the winner of Petr Yan Vs. Sean O’Malley. I believe he would like to stay active so Vera or Dvalishvili makes more sense because the Yan and O’Malley fight is not until October 22nd of this year. If he chooses the Vera fight, I believe whoever wins between them will get a title shot. The same goes for if he chooses to fight Dvalishvili. The top five in the UFC Bantamweight division are all one win away from a titled shot, T.J. Dillashaw is ranked #2 in the division and has a current date to fight the champion Aljamain Sterling which leaves the rest of the top 5 a win away to be next in line. Therefore if Sandhagen gets a win he’ll be next in line for a titled shot.
